Blogger was FUBAR for the morning, then my computer was no better for most of the afternoon, so not much has been happening here.

In particular, a note that I should have put up with much more than 24 hours notice will get 24 hours and 4 minutes notice.

Dominic Scott from Cambridge (the real one) will be speaking tomorrow, in philosophy at Brown, on The Perils of Platonic Love: The Affinity Between Philosophy and Tyranny.
Next week, Stephen Yablo from Cambridge (the not-real one) will be speaking on Beyond Rigidification on Tuesday afternoon. In my line of work rigidification is usually much more relevant (and, er, useful) than Platonic love, but we’ll keep an open mind until we see both papers.
