The NYTimes reports on “the new home to the philosophy department at MIT”:http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/13/arts/design/13MIT.html?ex=1399780800&en=17b644e0af004e14&ei=5007&partner=USERLAND. (They also mention some of the other tenants in the building.)

bq. There are already signs that the design is inspiring a certain playfulness: an inflatable penguin on a pillar, a beach ball thrown up on a column, reports of the philosophers’ playing Koosh ball in the two-story atriums.

I don’t quite know what the apostraphe, or the ‘ball’ is doing there. I’m also not sure that reports of philosophers playing Koosh is evidence of the inspiring nature of the building. Last I checked philosophers played Koosh in the old building, which was more, er, functional than inspiring. As some evidence for that, I’ve included some photos of said Koosh below the fold, courtesy of Andy.

That looks like it could be dangerous in a two-storey atrium!
