I’m headed off to St Andrews tomorrow for my annual stint as a professorial fellow at Arché. I’m looking forward to it a lot. I end up having most of my ideas for the year while I’m over there, and spend the intervening 10 months writing stuff up.
This trip will be busier than most. I’m scheduled to do three talks already in St Andrews – one on judgments and evidence, one on easy knowledge, and one more that will probably be on paradoxes but might be on non-demonstrative arguments in philosophy. And I’ll be attending at least three conferences, one on methodology this weekend, a conference on evidence later in the month, and a big conference on logical consequence.
But that’s only a normal level of busyness in St Andrews. What’s going to be a little different this time is how much I’ll be travelling. I’m going to Stirling (perhaps twice), Leeds, Konstanz and Oxford for talks, and spending some time holidaying in London (for the weekend after the Oxford trip) and the Highlands.
I don’t know whether that means blogging will be light or heavy. On the one hand, I won’t have as much time as I have in New York. On the other, there will be more ideas flying around than normal. I’m looking forward to it a lot!
