The awful Scruton article I mentioned the other day has inspired, if thats the right word, a long thread on the place of conservative thinkers in the contemporary political philosophy curriculum. The most recent posts are by Jacob Levy and Matthew Yglesias, and the entire thread is worth reading through. The consensus (and the discussion has been marked by admirable, and given the fora remarkable, even-handedness) seems to be that there arent many contemporary conservatives on reading lists in most courses, and while it would be desirable ceteris paribus to have more conservatives represented, given the actual state of research the structure of actual curricula is not a manifestation of left-wing bias.
