Super Furry Animals

I wonder if this blog has gotten too big to use in lieu of bulk email to friends? Probably, but let’s see.

Somehow I missed noticing that Super Furry Animals are playing in Somerville next Saturday (i.e. February 7) until just now. Fortunately, there are still tickets left, and they are sort of cheap [1], so I figured I might mosey along to it. If any friends reading this are interested in coming along, leave a comment or email me. If any random stalkers are reading this, I’ll really be holidaying in Siberia next week, so you can find me there [2].

[1] Well sort of cheap until you factor in Ticketmaster. I just bought a ticket to Paul Kelly’s Boston show through Clear Channel, who normally behave like the AntiChrist, and a $12 ticket came to $14.50 total. For SFA a $14.50 ticket would come to $23 total once you add in all Ticketmaster’s fees. One reason I’m a leftie is that I think all monopolies should be regulated and heavily. But I think ticket sales brokers are past that – I think it’s probably time to nationalise them. If Howard Dean really cared about us web users that’s the kind of thing he’d be promising!

[2] I don’t actually have any random stalkers – at least none so competent that I know of them.
