Footballing Philosophy

I was reading through a typically interesting Jonathan Wilson “column on formations”:http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2008/dec/18/4231-442-tactics-jonathan-wilson when I was taken aback by a gratuitous reference to Wittgenstein, complete with “Stanford Encyclopaedia link”:http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/wittgenstein/. Later in that same paragraph is a reference, without even a name dropping, to “Kuhn”:http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/thomas-kuhn/. Not what you normally expect in the football pages. But a great article, even with gratuitous philosophy references.
